Luis Zudaire; an Agricultural Scientist and Oenologist, from the University of Montpellier, France. After gaining experience in several winemaking areas such as Chile, Argentina and France, he decided to return to La Rioja Alavesa to fully dedicate himself to making the prestigious wines of Bodegas Ysios.
His aim is to produce wines with a clear Rioja identity, highly structured wines which incorporate the new, current oenological trends to achieve a balance between fruit and toasting levels.
He is therefore seeking to get the most out of each particular terroir and to achieve a perfect combination of hues, aromas and flavours. To do so, he enhances the fruit provided by the grapes and the complexity of each terroir through ageing in barrels with different types of oaks and different toasting levels. |
