YSIOS AND RAFAEL AMARGO, a state-of-the-art bodega for a state-of-the-art show.

Ysios, like all the great winemaking adventures, took its aspiration and inspiration from art. Art on stage or from the landscape in which it was decided to build the bodega; art in the setting, with design and integration into the surrounding terrain leading the march; and art, in a nutshell, to take care of all of the details which enable us to make one of the most select wines in the world.

Rafael Amargo represents a new trend for Ysios, a new conception of art. His choreographies overflow with a traditional and yet modern style. At times very close to contemporary dance, they never lose the point of reference in the essence of flamenco.

Rafael Amargo created his own particular version of the character of Don Quixote of La Mancha for dance, describing through his choreography and theatre not only Miguel de Cervantes’ masterpiece, but also the essence of this universal figure, in a theatrical and choreographic audiovisual spectacle which goes under the title of  "DQ... PASAJERO EN TRÁNSITO".

D.Q., is a choreographic spectacle by Rafael Amargo, inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ character. It is a contemporary show in which new technology plays an important role and in which audiovisual effects is the aesthetic thread running through the performance. It is not a recreation of the original novel, something which would be impossible to achieve, but rather a reflection, with a script by Juan Estelrich, on the most international of our literary characters.

The show has been designed and directed by Carlös Padrissa (Artistic Director of  LA FURA DELS BAUS) and Rafael Amargo himself.

D.Q. features the special collaboration of Fernando Fernán Gómez as the voice of  Miguel de Cervantes, and Emma Suárez as the Voice of the Moon.

D.Q. is, undoubtedly, one of the most important productions to have been promoted with private funding to celebrate the 4th Centenary of the publication of the first part of Don Quixote, and financially it is the most ambitious dance production ever mounted in Spain. We will be informing you shortly about its forthcoming performances.

As part of the tour, Rafael Amargo will perform in Bodegas Ysios in May 2006. A STATE-OF-THE-ART BODEGA FOR A STATE-OF-THE-ART SHOW.
